Hello. I work as a technical consultant in a big french firm, subsidiary of a TelCo company.
My background :
-Master in Aeronautics
-5 years in ERP consulting
-10 years in Data (Qlik, Tableau, Alteryx… mainly in Big Data contexts)
Really thrilled by Amphi and I started to contribute to the project a few days ago, discovering the joys of Python, Git and Typescrit.
Located in Bordeaux, France.

Hello.
Economics (major) and Business Administration (minor) graduate from Stuttgart, Germany here.
Data and Statistics have always been a part of my academic and professional career, but as a minor part only.
This includes:
- Introduction to programming in Delphi (High School)
- One decade experience in R with microdata (Uni, various jobs)
- Agent-Bases Modeling in NetLogo (Master’s Thesis)
- Some Excel etc.
After various jobs I decided to give BI a try but failed - because of too little preparation. This made me think about my future work and I decided to stay on the data path but finally learn the important things to get a job in data again, to survive in it, and finally to master it.
So I started a vast and systematic programme to learn the most important aspects of data.
Already learned (including the knowledge mentioned above and brief knowledge from my last job in BI):
- Fundamentals of Data Warehousing (theory and a first very small implementation, more abitious stuff is planned when I finished learning Python)
- Dashboards (Power BI, Tableau)
- SQL Databases (postgreSQL)
- ETL (Alteryx Designer, KNIME)
- Important languages for data (R, Python)
Right now I am expanding my knowledge in Python.
Roadmap for the near future:
- Python for statistics
- Python for machine learning
- More DWH with Amphi/Jupyter/Python, KNIME, NiFi, including real automation
- Getting into the industry
So, how did I stumble accross Amphi?
The course on Data Warhousing (Udemy) suggested Pentaho/Kettle for practise. After failing to get it running for hours I gave up and looked for an alternative.
So I discovered this article and the approach of a low-code interface generating pure Python code was appealing to me.
Being a total newbe to Python and maybe because of the early stage of the project, I did not manage to set up a DWH with Amphi and switched to KNIME.
Nevertheless, I am convinced of the approach and like to contribute as I learn more and more of Python! For now, this will include testing.
